ClipFit

Compress video without uploading it

Choose a size, like 10 MB for Discord or 25 MB for email, and get a video that fits. Everything runs in your browser.

What do you want to do?
MB

Processed on your device. Your videos are never uploaded.

How it works

  1. Add your videos. MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM and AVI files up to 500 MB each.
  2. Pick a target size. ClipFit calculates the bitrate needed to fit and picks a sensible resolution.
  3. Download the result. The output is an MP4 that plays on any phone, computer or website.

Your files stay on your device

Most online compressors upload your video to a server, process it there and send it back. That takes time, puts limits on file size and means a copy of your video sits on someone else’s computer.

ClipFit does the work inside your browser instead. Nothing you select is sent to us, so it’s safe for personal footage, screen recordings with private information and work files. You can check for yourself: open your browser’s network panel while a video is processing.

Questions

Is ClipFit really free?

Yes. There’s no account, no watermark and no limit on how many videos you process. The site is supported by ads.

How can it work without uploading my video?

Your browser downloads a video engine (FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly) the first time you use a tool. Your video is then processed by that engine on your own computer or phone, and the result is saved straight to your downloads.

What’s the largest video I can compress?

Up to 500 MB per file and 20 files at a time. Very long or 4K videos take longer on slower devices, so keep the tab open until processing finishes.

Which browsers are supported?

Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on desktop, Android and iOS. Desktop browsers are noticeably faster for long videos.

Will compressing reduce quality?

Making a file smaller always removes some detail. ClipFit spends the size budget carefully and lowers the resolution when that will look better than a blurry full-resolution picture.
